The October issue of Air France Magazine is dedicated to the 80-year anniversary of the company, featuring 3 travel stories in the 3 historical destinations of the Air France planes : Paris, Buenos Aires and Tokyo.
I was assigned to shoot the Tokyo story, “in the footsteps of Charlotte Perriand”. Charlotte Perriand was a French designer, who had been working for Le Corbusier in France and who spent several years in Japan in the 40ies and 50ies. According to Sori Yanagi, her assitant in Japan and one of the most famous Japanese designer, she was the foreigner who had the largest influence on Japanese design.
